Infants & Toddler Nursery

Our nurseries are available during most church activities. We have an infant nursery for newborns up to pre-walkers. Once babies have begun to walk full time with confidence, they join out toddler nursery. The toddler nursery is available for children up to 36 months of age. Nursing mothers are welcome in our nursery.

Security

Each staff member and volunteer that works with any child birth through 6th grade have been fully screened with background checks through Protect My Ministry, our church background check provider.

Meet Our Children's Director​

Kelly McElveen

Director of FBC PlaySchool, Preschool and Children's Ministries

    Kelly McElveen is our Preschool, Children's, and Playschool Director.

    Mrs. Kelly McElveen serves as both our Director of PlaySchool, since 2004, and as Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries, since 2014. Kelly has a background in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, earning both her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Master of Education from Louisiana State University. Passionate about sharing her love of ministry to children, Kelly has led breakout sessions and trainings for the Louisiana Baptist Convention and neighboring Tri-County Baptist Association at various conferences and trainings. She is also a Louisiana Believes Level III Certified Pathways Trainer.

    Kelly and her husband Stephen make their home in Stoney Point, where they raised their three children, Mack, Gentry, and Kennedy. Mack is the Pastor of New Zion Baptist Church in Tylertown and is married to his high school sweetheart, Haley. Gentry is a dispatcher for WSTE. Kennedy is a dental hygienist in Covington. Kennedy and her fiancé Alex plan to be wed in May.

    Her favorite season of ministry is Vacation Bible School. She taught the completed Kindergarten class for nearly two decades before transitioning to more of an administrative role. She also served a three-year term on the Louisiana Baptist Convention State VBS Team. Her favorite past VBS theme was Submerged, and she admits to occasionally still listening to the theme song!
